The traditional solid biological culture medium mostly uses agar as the gel agent, and uses low acyl gellan gum instead of agar as the gel agent of the culture medium.

    Introduction

PTC Gellan gum is a type of low acyl gellan gum, mainly used in biological culture media to form a solid and well permeable culture medium, which can observe biological growth more clearly. It is recommended to use a dosage of 0.2-0.8%.

The traditional solid biological culture medium mostly uses agar as the gel agent, and uses low acyl gellan gum instead of agar as the gel agent of the culture medium. It has the following advantages: high transparency, and the culture medium for gellan gel to form gel is almost transparent; Low dosage, about 1/4-1/3 of the amount of agar; Higher stability, Gellan gum is an extracellular polysaccharide with a pH tolerance range of 3.4-7.5 and is not easily hydrolyzed by biological metabolites. It is used in a dosage of 0.2% -0.8% in the culture medium.

PTC culture medium: gellan gumLAT0.5%、 Glucose 0.1%, peptone 0.5%, yeast extract 0.25%, calcium chloride 0.06%.
